Becoming an internet entrepreneur

Posted on January 15th, 2008 as Goals, Projects, Sites

Last week I wrote an article talking about my first steps to become an internet entrepreneur. This week I wanted to give you a little update on my sites and how they are doing. Right now I have:

www.supplementshoponline.com/
www.theiphoneshoppe.com/
www.porschecarsale.com/
www.onlinemazdacarparts.com/
www.bargaingolfstore.com/

When I started out and was doing my planning most people recommended eBay affiliate sites because of the ease of setup and revenue earned. The first site I built (www.supplementshoponline.com) is a site powered by build a niche site or normally called bans. When I first started out I wanted to build a few sites with build a niche store. The only thing I did not like about the software was the cookie cutter style of the sites. I saw examples of people who did a lot of customizing and when you looked at the site it was easy to spot it was built with bans. I decided to have my first site customized and the designer did a good job but it still looks cookie cutter to me.

After doing some research I found a piece of software call phpbaypro. It did the same features of bans but was a plugin for wordpress that sold me right there. What I liked about it using wordpress was the custom features I could add and the freedom in changing the styles of my sites. After finding that plug-in I created www.theiphoneshoppe.com, www.porschecarsale.com, www.onlinemazdacarparts.com/, andwww.bargaingolfstore.com with phpbaypro. All of the sites use a free template and maybe feature a few minor changes but are mostly unchanged. What’s great about them is the ease of setup. The first time I did it took me about an hour then after that I was able to get it down to about 20-25 minutes with configuring the seo plug-in. If you are looking for a easy way to get starting with a eBay affiliate site phpbaypro is the software to do it with.

After setting up my eBay sites I started to make a little money but it was slow. The first week I had my sites I made .6 in adsense and nothing through eBay. As time has progressed I am up to $1.50 in adsense and $13 in eBay commissions. This might seem like nothing but I after I got the site running I only submitted them to Google and haven’t touched them since.

I’ve been there! 6 months ago, I WAS you! I was a new blogger taking my first steps towards making some real cash online. Well, I’m proud to report that 6 months later, here I am. I’m a full-time internet entrepreneur, and I make 4-5k a month just from blogging.

If I can be of any help to you, let me know. I’ll be glad to share what I know! Or you can check out my blog for helpful hints.

Good luck! I wish you all the best in your new endeavor, and I’m glad you took the leap. You’ll be glad you did!

Someday I hope to do exactly what you are doing, start a site, promote it, and also set up sites with little maintenance to bring in easy money. Hopefully by following you on your journey it can help me in the future… :D

Imagine what your profits would be like if you actively advertised for them and promoted them. Little side projects like this can provide passive income.

    hafiz has a point…
you have a 125 x 125 spot empty on your blog right now, why not throw one of them up there? just wasted space at the moment.

unless of course, you want someone to buy that space, and they might think it was unavailable.
