How Are My Sites Doing?

Posted on March 5th, 2008 as Goals, Projects

I have mentioned in previous posts that I have a few eBay affiliate sites setup and wanted to give an update on how they are doing. I have been slacking on them because I have been so focused on this site and promoting it. This site has kept me so busy that that my other projects are lacking (I will admit I try to do a lot of projects at once). I have some done some link building on my supplement store and gained some traffic from it but it is still low. The one thing that is hardest for me is getting traffic. It’s not like a normal site or blog so marketing is different. Affiliate marketing is a lot of work but I think it will pay off with time.
For the month of February I made a little under $8. It is a low amount but has been the best month income wise from my sites.  I need to work on generating traffic and writing content. Right now they are setup with the main landing page just showing the items for sale with no content. I have read that adding a few posts can make a difference in generating traffic.

The main income was from eBay commission but I had a little from adsense too. The breakdown is:

eBay:
The Iphone Shoppe: $0.66
Supplement Shop Online: $6.32

adsense:
Porsche Car Sale: $1.00
Supplement Shop Online: $0.49
The Iphone Shoppe: $0.03

For next month my goal is hit $10 from my sites and keep focusing on growing them. My plans are to convert them to more of mini blogs than just eBay landing pages.

I also am working on a launching another blog about weight loss and weight loss help. I also plan to launch a blog with it as well. I already have the domains and have had this plan for a while I am just still working on getting it ready. I hope to launch the new site in the beginning of April.  My goals for this month are set high so we shall see if I can accomplish everything.

Goals for March

Posted on March 4th, 2008 as Goals, Site News

Yesterday I took a look at my goals for last month but did not set any new goals for this month. Because I did not break my all of my goals for the month I did not change them. I decided to focus on quality content and link building. My goals for the month are:

  • 2500 Visitors
  • Write 15 quality posts
  • Get 25 subscribers
  • Comment on 3 new blogs a week

I am thinking of running another contest for the month as well to try and boost my traffic and rss subscribers. I am working on the details and trying to figure out some prizes. If you are interested in sponsoring any prizes for my contest contact me through my contact page.

Did I Hit My Goals for the Month?

Posted on March 3rd, 2008 as Goals, Site News

Planning

I can’t believe we are in March already. It seems like yesterday we where just coming out of January. Since the month is over lets recap and see how I did on my goals for the month. My goals for Febraury where:

  • Finish my blog design
  • Get a better logo designed
  • 2500 Visitors
  • Write 15 posts
  • Get 25 subscribers
  • Comment on 3 new blogs a week

So how did I do on my goals?

  • Finish my blog design - Almost done need one or two minor things but I don’t think I ever will be finished with it
  • Get a better logo designed - Completed, I got that setup the last week of the month but I finally got that completed
  • 2500 Visitors - I really missed this goal.I only had 873 Visitors for the month.
  • Write 15 posts - I had 18 posts not including announcements so I managed to hit this goal
  • Get 25 subscribers - Another goal that I missed I had around 11 subscribers according to feedburner
  • Comment on 3 new blogs a week - I have been averaging 4 new blogs and commenting more

I started the month strong and was lacking towards the end and I know that had some impact. I am a little sad though on how low my visitors where. I realize I need to digg in and keep working hard to improve these numbers. So how am I going to work on improving the stats on my blog?

  • I am going to write longer posts with more frequency
  • I purchased 125×125 ads on winning the web and internet babel, and thomas sinfield
  • I have started a campaign with Project Wonderful to get my ad on more sites
  • Comment on more blogs
  • I am also debating purchasing a review from a blog (just not sure which one)

Goals For The Month

Posted on February 4th, 2008 as Goals, Site News

Last week I posted my blog turns a month old and showed my traffic but I never talked about any goals or what my plans where for February. I have been doing some thinking and am trying to plan reasonable goals.

My goals for the month are:

  • Finish my blog design
  • Get a better logo designed
  • 2500 Visitors
  • Write 15 posts
  • Get 25 subscribers
  • Comment on 3 new blogs a week

These should not be goals I cannot achieve but I still will have to work hard to achieve them. The first two items will take a lot of strain of me though.  I have not been happy with my design since launching it and I have been trying to make it better but it is not there yet.

Becoming an internet entrepreneur

Posted on January 15th, 2008 as Goals, Projects, Sites

Last week I wrote an article talking about my first steps to become an internet entrepreneur. This week I wanted to give you a little update on my sites and how they are doing. Right now I have:

www.supplementshoponline.com/
www.theiphoneshoppe.com/
www.porschecarsale.com/
www.onlinemazdacarparts.com/
www.bargaingolfstore.com/

When I started out and was doing my planning most people recommended eBay affiliate sites because of the ease of setup and revenue earned. The first site I built (www.supplementshoponline.com) is a site powered by build a niche site or normally called bans. When I first started out I wanted to build a few sites with build a niche store. The only thing I did not like about the software was the cookie cutter style of the sites. I saw examples of people who did a lot of customizing and when you looked at the site it was easy to spot it was built with bans. I decided to have my first site customized and the designer did a good job but it still looks cookie cutter to me.

After doing some research I found a piece of software call phpb Read the rest of this entry »

My first steps to become an internet entrepreneur

Posted on January 11th, 2008 as Goals, Projects, Sites

This is a start of a series I will continually update. It will be about my sites I run and about my headaches and joys of achieving my end goal to become a full time internet entrepreneur.

I have been into computers for the last decade (wow does time fly). In those years I have been building computers, overclocking hardware, run tons of different software, and using the internet. I always find myself drawn to website design and social interactions like instant messaging. I did some basic web design on and off for a few periods of time but never really stuck with it.

I started reading blogs when they started booming and remember reading sites on how to make money through them but never tried. It was something that I always but on the back burner and said I would get back to. I ended up really get sidetracked when I went to a technical school for the networking side (IT Networking and administration if you want to be technical). After a few years of network administration and desktop support I realized I was really missing messing with websites. Read the rest of this entry »
