Streamlining Social Networks One Step at a Time

Social Network Logo’s

With all of the growing Social Networks that are out and the many that keep popping out it seems like in a very short time you end up with multiple accounts in no time. You have the joy of keeping up will all of your friends some of them are on Twitter but not Pownce or vice versa. So you try to send out one update and end up at multiple sites making the same post so all of your friends get it. It is a constant juggle for me to keep up and sometimes I end up focusing on one site then miss out on others because there are so many.

It seems with all of the social networks it takes away from the original concept. It was a simple way to tell your friends something simple. Maybe it was that you liked your red shirt that you where wearing or that there was rain in Virginia while your friend is in New York. We all the routine, you’re out and see a friend and tell them your name on Twitter and that they should follow you. They reply sorry I don’t use twitter I am on Jaiku.

Thankfully Hellotxt is trying to make it easier to use multiple social networks. You go to their site http://www.hellotxt.com and you can post to twitter, jaiku, pownce, plaxco, tumblr, and facebook all at the same time. I just found the site and have been playing around with it some so I will let you know more after using it longer. Also I had to sign up for pownce and jaiku so I could post to them.

It looks very promising as a step towards actually making it easier to use multiple social networks. I think it is like when the entire different instant messengers only did one service. Now you can use a web client to load all of them from one place.

If you sign up for Hellotxt I would like to hear your impressions and if you think this is something we will be seeing more and more.

The Digg Revolt - Is Digg in trouble?

Posted on January 24th, 2008 as Sites, Technology

Over at cornwallseo he published an awesome article about the digg revolt. I wonder though is the beginning of the end for Digg or will people just moan and groan? With Digg’s new algorithm which makes it harder to get a post noticed, the auto-bury list which they deny, and lack of communication (taking the servers down with no notice for updates) how many times do they have to shoot themselves in the foot before people go elsewhere?

Contest at Winning the Web

Posted on January 23rd, 2008 as Sites, Technology

Gyutae Park over at Winning the Web is currently giving away free advertisements to 19 lucky people. After revamping his Advertising page, he decided to promote it by giving away advertisements worth $410. I think this is a great idea on Gyutae’s part and enjoy his site. He recently had a completion with Tyler Cruz to get more votes and won. I definitely recommend his site so make sure to go check it out and maybe win some free advertising.

Go ahead and check out this post for more information regarding his contest.
