Internet marketing is just like other marketing which is done with the goal to promote the service and boost the sales. Internet marketing is also known as inorganic search engine optimization (SEO) as it involves paid methods to promote site. The results of internet marketing become evident in a short span of time and you don’t have to wait long to see the results and to judge the effectiveness of your campaign. Internet marketing is promoting a service (in this case a website) on internet and following ways are employed for it:

In PPC advertisements, the advertiser pays for click of ads and the amount of money being spent on displaying the adds is far less when compared with the cost of click. This is beneficial for advertisers as they are not being charged when someone is just having a look at his advertisement, thus it is a little less costly affair.
2) Targeted Advertisements: This is another popular way of internet marketing. In this case, the advertiser has to pay for the display of the advertisements either on the basis of impressions or on the duration for which it is being displayed. There is no cost if the user clicks on the ads.
3) Email Marketing: This is another method of internet marketing and the oldest one too. In this method, emails are sent for the promotion to the relevant customers who opt for either that email or for that particular niche of their interest.
Whatever the method is being employed, internet marketing plays a big role in boosting profits in a small span of time but when done properly. The only constraint involved is the budget factor.
