If you are a blogger you need to be using Twitter. What other tool can you use to stay in contact with the big names in blogging? Right now on Twitter I have Problogger, DoshDosh, and 45n5 who I follow and they also follow me. What other tool can I use to get that kind of exposure?

If you are a growing blog or a blog that is trying to get noticed this is the best tool. With twitter you can stay in contact with people who normally would not notice you. I am not saying that Darren from problogger is so popular he doesn’t care about the little guy but right now on his twitter account he has 1253 followers and he is following 893 people. Sure he knows the top commenter’s from his site but that’s a lot of people to notice. Now over a regular basis he can see who you are and what you post on your blogs. That is the best way to get contacts and gain exposure.

Another great aspect of twitter is communicating with other bloggers and getting noticed. I have found some great posts from other bloggers who I would not normally find in my daily reading. I have found three great blogs that I subscribe to and comment on that I found through twitter. My blog is just under a month old and with twitter I have gained great exposure and some great readers. As of this morning I had 14 rss subscribers and I know 5 of them came from contacts I meet from twitter. Also I have been told from a few people they have stumbled a few of posts to.

Twitter has been a great tool for me to build contacts and help find new readers for my blog. If you are trying to get your site noticed or get some extra traffic I recommend twitter.If you use twitter or sign up follow me and say hi. I always like hearing from readers or fellow bloggers.

    Oddly enough, I have not tried Twitter yet. It looks promising so I will definitely try it in the future; I might try to do an experiment as soon as I have a few extra days to see how much I can get out of it.

    i rarely use twitter, though have tried it, but not the type of marketing strategy that i am with.

    I really love twitter. Like I said if you have a blog you NEED to be using it. Great way to connect with readers and other bloggers.

    it is indeed good for connection and learning to bloggers but most of the time i see it, it is more on marketing an affiliate link rather than connecting into common goal, if you are an affiliate marketer , then this is the right one for you including those web 2.0 stuff

    The headline caught my eye. Guess why? Because I still don’t use Twitter. It’s become the latest fad around the blogosphere, but I’ve never bothered to check it out. Now I will, and I’ll let you know what I think.
